A Lion in the Meadow

After reading Margaret Mahy's classic A Lion in the Meadow Room 1 retold the story and made some lions with crayon, dye and black vivid.  I love how differently they all turned out!  

Art Week

Last week we turned the school into a gallery for Art Week.  Each class created artworks and on Friday we walked around all the classes and looked at the amazing work.  Room 1 experimented with using white wax crayon on white paper.  We noticed that when you drew a pattern with the crayon on the white paper you couldn't really see it, like invisible ink!  But when we painted over it with dye our patterns magically appeared!

Pirate Day

As a school reward for getting 6000 sunshine awards we had a pirate dress up day.  Here are a few photos from the pirate parade.  Arrrr!
