Descriptive writing

On Friday we tried a pomegranate.  First we looked at it and used our senses to describe it.  Then we tasted it and thought about adjectives we could use.  Here are some of Room 1's pomegranate stories:

The pomegranate looked good.  It tasted gross and good.  The seeds were red.  It looked like slime when I first saw it.  It is lumpy and bumpy.  It was black.  I liked the juice.  It was nice.
- Lefine

I liked the taste of the juice but it smelt disgusting.  It had heaps of seeds.  It had bumps on it and it felt rough.  I liked it so much and it was red and the juice was so yum.
- Sonny

The pomegranate tasted like a strawberry.  I loved it so much.  I asked my teacher if I can have more but she said "no, you can only have one."  It felt squishy and heavy.
- Luqman

The pomegranate looked like a red bean and it was brown.  It felt smooth and it was so delicious and I liked the juice.  It was very very sour.  It was yum and it was waaay hard!
-Adnah

It looks red.  I like red.  The people eat the pomegranate.  The people like it and I like it too.
- Axelia

The pomegranate tasted bitter and sour.  The pomegranate smelt sweet.  I like it.  It is lumpy.

Construction Plus day

We had a visit from HLC Construction who are doing construction work around the neighbourhood.  They organised stations where children were challenged to bury a pipe, build the tallest tower possible and design a pipe that water could flow through.  Here are some photos from the day.
